19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of that year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His retrieving approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had led some to question if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the final five games to take the lead.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to force a decider.
He rescued 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
